Welcome To Dive Torbay Image

Torbay in south Devon is perhaps best known as the biggest sea-side resort in the south west. But for those of us who venture beyone it's golden sand beaches, towering headlands and glorious coastal footpath, there is a wealth of marine life and huge variety of diving sites accessible either from the shore or just a short boat ride away.

It is the aim of DiveTorbay to provide the freediver, snorkeller, spearfisherman, shore diver, kayak diver and boat diver with detailed information about the many different sites in and around the bay. These guides, coupled with an extensive photo gallery, should give you the motivation to head down to our warm waters to discover for yourself the wonders that lie beneath.

Welcome!

These guides do take time and repeated dives to perfect so we have an on-going program of work ahead of us to completley fill our archive. The first few guides will be based from the shore or kayak as these cater for all divers, later we will cover some of the deeper, more adventurous sites to be visited within our catchment area.

Having recently completed a Sea Search Observer course, we also aim to compile a list of marine life we encounter whilst researching our guides. Sea Search information is already helping to protect Torbay's extensive sea grass beds from damage caused by fishing and anchors to the benefit of both divers and fishermen.

Being a holiday resort, the three towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham that make up Torbay also offer the non-diving family member plenty of attractions to visit while the divers get wet. There really should be something for everyone!
